What Brookfield is known for: Green suburb, High desirability

Suburb profile

Brookfield is a quieter smaller community in Dungog, where peace, space and a country-town pace still dominate. The community is self-contained in the best sense. Local life comes first, with the region opening up beyond. Generous greenery runs through the area, from street trees to tucked-away reserves.

Long-term locals and family households define much of the community, with a strong presence of young families throughout. Everyday life leans local, with a handful of trusted shops, a familiar main street and neighbours who know your name. Outdoor life is easy here, with generous parks and room for kids, dogs and weekend strolls.

Transport options are solid enough for daily errands and regular trips further afield. Homes offer solid value for the lifestyle on offer.

The desirability score is below average, weighed down by weaker local dining and lifestyle amenities and transport and access against similar regional towns, even with housing affordability and community and employment holding up better. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
