Suburb profile
Set among the hills of Hornsby, Brooklyn is a smaller community with bushland views and a cooler, leafier feel. Regional calm with capital access on standby: close enough for outings, distant enough to feel unhurried. Ridge-top pockets and tree cover give the area a cooler, greener hillside feel.
A mature community gives the area a calm, settled social fabric, with multiple generations sharing the same neighbourhood. The pace is unhurried, with local businesses and community spots doing the heavy lifting. Green space is a real strength, with parks and playgrounds woven through the suburb.
Buses and nearby services make commuting and cross-suburb trips straightforward. Housing carries a premium, but residents tend to feel the lifestyle justifies the commitment.
On the desirability index, the suburb sits below average overall, mainly because local dining and lifestyle amenities and safety lag similar regional towns, despite relative strength in community and employment and parks and green space. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
