Suburb profile

Kangaroo Point is a lively inner established suburb with dining, shopping and leisure options right on the doorstep. Sitting close to the city centre, it is easy to dip into neighbouring suburbs for work, dining and events. Families and commuters make up much of the community, with a community of people who commute and work locally.

Coffee, casual meals and neighbourhood eateries give the suburb a lived-in social scene. Parks, reserves and open space make it genuinely outdoor-friendly for walks, sport and weekend downtime. Public transport links make it easy to move between neighbouring suburbs without relying on the car.

Housing carries a premium, but residents tend to feel the lifestyle justifies the commitment. Period homes and heritage streetscapes give the area a character that newer suburbs rarely match.

The desirability score is around average, weighed down by weaker housing affordability and safety against similar metro suburbs, even with community and employment and transport and access holding up better.
