Suburb profile

Iraak is a welcoming smaller community in Mildura, with a settled community character. Out in the wider region, it rewards those who value open country and a pace set by the land, not the clock. Families and commuters make up much of the community, with family life visible on every street.

Weekends tend to revolve around local favourites: a café, a market run, a walk through town. Community life feels grounded and local, with residents who tend to know their neighbourhood well.

Housing remains accessible compared with many parts of the state.

This sand hill is one of our largest and is not productive cropping land due to its steepness and sandy soils which blows during the dry summers. Our stock fences are constantly being buried. We are often having to re-sow the area which then causes further wind errosion issues. Removing/bring down the hill as much as possible will make the land more productive for farming.
