Suburb profile

At the heart of the metro area, Millers Point is a smaller community where cafés, culture and everyday convenience overlap. Sitting close to the city centre, it is easy to dip into neighbouring suburbs for work, dining and events. Tree-lined streets and leafy pockets give the suburb a noticeably green, settled character.

Established families and long-term residents give the suburb a settled feel, with plenty of young families in the mix. There are enough cafés and casual dining options to keep weekends interesting. Parks, reserves and open space make it genuinely outdoor-friendly for walks, sport and weekend downtime.

Reasonably walkable — many errands reachable on foot or by bus, and public transport helps with longer trips. Housing carries a premium, but residents tend to feel the lifestyle justifies the commitment.

On the desirability index, the suburb sits below average overall, mainly because housing affordability and transport and access lag similar metro suburbs, despite relative strength in community and employment and parks and green space. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
