Suburb profile
Set among the hills of Central Coast (NSW), Ourimbah is a mid-sized suburb with bushland views and a cooler, leafier feel. The community is self-contained in the best sense. Local life comes first, with the region opening up beyond. Fresh country air and elevated outlooks are part of the appeal up here among the hills.
Residents are mostly families and working professionals, with a strong presence of young families throughout. Everyday life leans local, with a handful of trusted shops, a familiar main street and neighbours who know your name. Green space is a real strength, with parks and playgrounds woven through the suburb.
Strong public transport connections keep the wider area accessible. Housing carries a premium, but residents tend to feel the lifestyle justifies the commitment.
The desirability score is around average, weighed down by weaker safety and local dining and lifestyle amenities against similar regional towns, even with parks and green space and housing affordability holding up better. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
