What Windella is known for: High desirability, Green suburb

Suburb profile

Windella is a practical smaller community in Maitland, well placed for families who want metro access without the inner-city squeeze. You get space and calm here, while the city and neighbouring suburbs are still close enough for regular outings. Families and commuters make up much of the community, with plenty of young families in the mix.

Daily life is practical and well connected, with the city and nearby suburbs easy to tap into. Reasonable public transport access helps with commuting and getting around locally. Housing carries a premium, but residents tend to feel the lifestyle justifies the commitment.

A busy pipeline of new development is gradually changing the look and feel of the streets.

The desirability score is below average, weighed down by weaker transport and access and local dining and lifestyle amenities against similar metro suburbs, even with community and employment and housing affordability holding up better. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
