Suburb profile
Windang is a coastal mid-sized suburb where beach life and relaxed outdoor living shape the local character. Sea and sand are the main draw, with neighbouring coastal communities easy to explore on a free afternoon. There is a lightness to the air here, with the coast never far from mind.
A mature community gives the area a calm, settled social fabric. Green space is a real strength, with parks and playgrounds woven through the suburb. Strong public transport connections keep the wider area accessible.
Housing remains accessible compared with many parts of the state. Construction and infill projects are noticeably reshaping parts of the area.
The desirability score is below average, weighed down by weaker community and employment and safety against similar coastal suburbs, even with growth momentum and transport and access holding up better. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
